7.1 Apply technology to the delivery of standards-based instruction.
To integrate the standards based instruction into technologies I created a Web Qest site. This was met by the standards of Colorado K-12 Academic Standards: 1. Physical Science for grades 9-12. This assignment required the critical thinking and web based research skills as applied to chemical syntheses and function. The web site designed incorporated technology into the standards-based program instruction.
7.2 Use technology to increase student achievement.
To increase student achievement I utilized the resources of Web 2.0 into my instruction of education. The resources there provided a network of student interaction as well as sources for creditable research. To further increase student outreach and thus achievement I developed both a podcast and a digital story telling file that can be used to provide information, collaboration, presentation, and success. A SMART board presentation was also developed to enhance student involvement and provide class activity for the sources of instruction.
7.3 Utilize technology to manage and communicate information.
In furthering communication to the classroom I created a podcast and a digital story telling file that can be used to reach students. This technology can be used for students to refer to outside of the class and can help be a part of a collaborative effort in education. The designed Web Quest site can further this communication effort among students and teachers when implementing learning material. With is, communication through technology can be applied.
7.4 Apply technology to data-driven assessments of learning.
I designed a rubric for students to refer to when creating a designed project such as the one originated in the Web Quest site. The rubric was created using assessment for the specified grade level, topic area, and presentation material required. Therefore, I met the standards assigned to integrating technology and data-driven assessment for student’s learning.
7.5 Instruct students in basic technology skills.
Technology integration can be used to increase student involvement and integration of the learning material. Technology awareness and safety was addressed in the cyber bullying instruction of the course. This will be utilized from the instruction given in the podcast and digital story telling presentation material. I learned and am able to instruct students to create their own presentation materials such as these. Also the Wikispace portfolio was used which can be a tool for students to create an interactive means of displaying and sharing information while collecting learned projects to monitor progress. Technology will be integrated for students then on a variety of technology based mediums.
